Day 1, July 7, 2021, Home to Klamath Falls, OR, 383 miles from the meeting point in Milpitas. We have 5 families loosely traveling together. I say loosely because potty and gas stops do not always coincide.
We were all together at the start:
As we headed north, we were glad that the traffic crush was in the other direction. As we went past Shasta Dam, really low,,,,,
Lunch at the very first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta,,,,,
After being closed for 10 days, route 97 was finally open to Klamath Falls. Lot of burned timber and Mt Shasta itself still has lots of fires burning up the mountain,,,,,
