Day 3, July 9, 2021: Kennewick, WA to Spokane, WA, 140 miles. Started the day out on a downer. Peder's truck broken into last night. Took suitcases and the steerhorns shown in this picture. Fortunately missed a lot of stuff, probably got interrupted. Maria had to go shopping for clothes today.
On the drive in today, we finally figured out what the other crop is that is being raised in this area. We started to see truckloads of potatoes and long low buildings which are the storage bins for the potatoes. Stopped at a rest area which was posted for rattleshakes (did not see any) but had a good overlook on the Columbia River, still very big this far inland.
Arrived at the Northern Quest Resort, cannot miss it, saw it from several miles away....
Parked out front was the 2021 winner of the Montana 500. 51+mph winning speed, max speed hit was 72 mph. That would be terrifying in a T.
This evening was the ice cream social,,,,
Ice cream was made instantly onsite. Pour a gallon or two of milk, maybe half and half into a bowl, add any flavorings that you want, and pour in a couple cups of liquid nitrogen. Stir until the fog goes away and you have a bowl of ice cream ready to be dished up. Amazing, this is an actual business for the guy.

So sorry to hear about the break -in. Of course you are going to see potatoes, you are close to Idaho 😂

Sorry to hear about Peder & Maria’s truck getting broken into. Boy will we miss seeing those horns! Must look for new ones.
