Day 1: Los Altos to Fortuna, 293 miles. Today has to be shakedown day, we did shake a few things loose. 6 cars, 9 people at the start.
Ever tried to get thru SF on 19th at rush hour?
Golden Gate was in the fog,,,,
First shakedown, shook a sparkplug clear out of Will's car,,,
unbelievable, we found the plug,,,
And then, so lucky, Lee's car stopped. Problem was a broken choke wire which let the butterfly slam closed. But then we noticed that the fuel pump bracket had broken and the rubber fuel line was laying on the exhaust header. This was a major bullet dodged.. Baling wire to the rescue on both.
On thru the redwoods to Fortuna.
I did find my new travel trailer,,,
Good day, cold to warm to hot to cold again, that is CA for you. Patti's favorite sign for today, Rattlesnake Summit, 1796 feet, we did not stop. That's all..
