First traveling tour of the year was in April. Two speedsters from our club trailered to the Arizona speedster run held at the Havasu Springs Resort on Lake Havasu just outside Parker, AZ. Pat and I took old 44 and Bill Bratt and Ernie Roeder took Bill’s new 723. Click on any picture for a bigger look.
Good place for a speedster run, desert roads, no freeways. Only thing was, it was a little disconcerting when we pulled into the parking lot and the trees were full of buzzards watching us. Moral of that story, keep moving.
Good run for speedsters, 25 speedsters showed up. 723 and 44 at this end. Pat talking to Tony Bowker from San Diego.
We did desert roads, that is us in the green speedster, Bill and Ernie behind us.
We did farm roads through the millions of acres of alfalfa grown in that area,,,,
Love the smell of alfalfa,,,, try and pick on of those bales up!!
Lot of fun,,,, few temporary breakdowns,,,,
But everybody finished, Pat and I came in 6th, Bill and Ernie came in 22nd due to the exhaust pipe kept coming off, cost a lot of time.. AZ run always a fun run, always in a different place, we will probably go again next year.
