Springfield, IL to Kalamazoo, MI, 347 miles. Another long day of catch-up to get back on schedule, lots of driving, a little sightseeing. We struck out early ahead of the group today to try and get in a little earlier today, and we actually got in at 4:00. Here’s a few things that we did take time to see. Every little town has a gimmick.A restored Standard station. And a restored Texaco station. A fire truck in the Texaco station. Couple misc sights, a very unusual wind mill,,, A Frank LLoyd Wright bank building out here in the middle of Illinois. Then we saw this parade of tractors going over the freeway. Took a little video of them just for fun.
This is for you, Gene Mandere.
And another dose of big city freeway in Chicago, (please don’t break down here!!!!) But all’s well that ends well,,,,,Mechanical status report: Rich has lost his AC, the other three all still doing okay. Chuck has the phaeton in a uhaul van and will catch up with us tomorrow.
